Works very well for USB 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 & 3.1 type A & B.Does not support USB 3.2 and 4.0 as this is only USB C type.Made of semi-durable plastic and metallic face label.Built well enough but keep unit protected during transit.Powered by 9volt. Tests up to 1,000 feet long cables.Do NOT test w/ POE as will damage unit however you can test if plugged into non-POE switch port.Lots of features built-in so will take a few hours to fully test/understand features. The only USB cable it tests is A to standard B; no micro, no mini, no C. If it had those it would be a five-star device, but it's still not bad for what it does.I have wired my house with CAT5 over the years, but never labeled which wire from the router and switch went where within the house. This tester allowed me to easily identify each run so that I could label them. It also confirmed that the wiring was good.Such an ill-conceived user interface...and then it died the second day. Awful.Nice little tester. Got it to check a bunch of USB 2 and 3 cables I've been assembling as well as spot checking troublesome Cat5 cables. Automatic mode is OK, but the individual conductor check is especially useful.Worked great for me when I was running and terminating ethernet cables for my home network setup.Awesome, easy to use and look sturdynothing to complain about with this tester, simple fast and accurateThis tester does work quite well, but you need to read the instructions whilst testing a few "known good", and a few "bad", cables to work out what the control buttons do and what test LED sequences to expect - and you'll need to to that quite a few times to become confident that you know how the tester works. The instruction in the accompanying leaflet are no more than OK, and it could do with a rewrite to make everything much clearerOne definite "demerit" about the tester itself is that the LEDs on the detachable remote unit are Red, and so it's very disconcerting to find those LEDs lighting up to show that a particular connection is "OK"- making them Green would make more sense, and give confidence, to the user that "Good" tested cables are "OK".Offers exactly what I needed to test the RJ45 cables I make, except that it doesn't make a good contact with what is plugged into it so it gives random results ...I have to wiggle the connectors to try to see what the cable is like, and it's become a lottery as to whether the cable is actually good or not.So, it's effectively useless for testing cables with RJ45s, which are the only ones I need it for :(Hatte bereits einen LAN-Tester, der mit einem Set aus Ratsche und Stecker mitkam, so ca. 10€ Teil.
