The Triplett Fox & Hound HotWire lets you trace live wires (up to 250V AC or 250V DC) in your home or on the job.
This high-performance unit utilizes a different frequency than the traditional Fox & Hound, allowing you to hear the tone clearly where other toners would get lost in the electrical noise of a live wire.
It includes the versatile Fox HotWire Tone Generator (Toner) and the high-performance Hound HotWire Inductive Amplifier (Probe).

The Hound HotWire includes an advanced filtering system to ensure you can still trace the wire even if the wire is still live. - Q. Can this be used for 12V or 24V systems?
A. The 3388 can be used on any system up to 250V. - Q. Is it possible to use this device for tracing wires in automobiles?
A.Unfortunately, no. Though the 3388 model can be applied to any system up to 250V, it's not suitable for automotive applications, the cable bundles found in automobiles result in a bleed-out from the cable being tested, causing the tone to spread over all cables in the bundle.
